Johnsons Workwear Engage DriverMetrics to Improve Driver Safety

The UK’s leading workwear supplier, Johnsons Workwear, has engaged driver risk management specialist, DriverMetrics to implement a driver safety programme for its employees that drive for work.

Johnson’s drivers will undertake DriverMetrics360  – which incorporates a driver risk assessment and a programme of targeted eLearning modules, designed to reduce individual crash risk. The eLearning modules address the key behavioural risk factors for employees that drive for work, including fatigue, work related pressures, frustrations and distractions.

Ian Greatrex, National Transport Manager at Johnsons said “Johnsons Workwear are committed to ensuring the safety of our drivers by investing in our people through the use of driver intervention systems and coaching. By initially assessing 400 of our drivers and through subsequent training modules we aim to decrease their risk of being involved in a road traffic incident by increasing their awareness of the risks associated with driving. DriverMetrics provides the tool to do this with an intuitive online interface and a comprehensive reporting suite.”

Secure Empty Property Improves Employee Driver Safety with DriverMetrics

Property specialist, Secure Empty Property, has engaged DriverMetrics to implement a driver safety programme for its van drivers.

Drivers are undertaking DriverMetrics GO – the leading digital risk assessment and eLearning programme for SME fleets – following a recommendation by their insurer, RSA.

DriverMetrics GO removes the barriers to entry into effective risk management for smaller fleets. It enables managers to quickly, easily and affordably identify the risk profile of their drivers and allocate eCoaching interventions to change high risk behaviours.

Gareth Carson, Head of Operations at Secure Empty Property said: “DriverMetrics were recommended to us by our insurers and we were not disappointed with the service provided. It was made easy as all the information was provided and was very easy to follow. We would certainly recommend them.”

Medina Dairy Benefits from Reduction in Insurance Claims

Medina Dairy, one of the UK’s largest suppliers of milk, dairy and bakery products has reduced its vehicle insurance claims frequency, following the introduction of a new risk management strategy. Central to this initiative was the insurer RSA commissioning DriverMetrics® to implement its multi-award winning safety programme for Medina’s drivers.

DriverMetrics implemented its behavioural driver risk assessment for all drivers in order to accurately identify individual risk profiles. Drivers subsequently undertook DriverMetrics® eCoaching modules to reduce risks. Finally, some of the highest risk drivers attended a DriverMetrics® ‘Insight into Action’ workshop, which focuses on changing the specific high risk behaviours identified in each drivers risk profile.

Hayat Ali, Senior Operations Manager at Medina Dairy, said “We found DriverMetrics® online training useful in assessing driver behaviours which is based on their age, driving pattern, number of hours they spend on road along with other parameters which they use for analysis. It gave us viable information which we could work towards in order to reduce those risks.

One of them was arranging on site workshops for drivers in high risk band to educate them further on aspects relating to their specific requirements. The course itself is a reminder to all drivers to reflect on the risk areas which go unnoticed in daily life as drivers get accustomed to a standard routine. It was an eye opener for them and the company to see the impact certain elements make on your driving.”
