Fleet Risk Profiling & Management
Developed at Cranfield University in 2005, DriverMetrics has pioneered the use of evidence-based profiling solutions to risk manage fleets of all sizes and types across the globe.
Our mission is to reduce both the frequency and devastating impact of crashes for our clients, by helping improve driver and rider behaviour through greater self-awareness.
What We Offer Our Clients
Pre-Employment Screening
An online behavioural assessment, which delivers a short report on each candidates risk factors to help assess suitability. Used by UK emergency services, multi drop delivery companies, insurance providers and driving related businesses, this invaluable tool is a predictor of risk.
Profiling Existing Drivers
The Fleet Driver/Rider Risk Index is an online psychometric profiling tool which assesses multiple factors which contribute to an individual’s overall risk. Used as a solution on its own or part of a programme of interventions, the outcome is a risk score and report which highlights any areas of concern.
Assessment & Coaching
This combination of an online assessment, profile report and access to a telephone coaching session is a great resource for those who have had a crash, points on their licence, or seen multiple telematics flags. Our profiling identifies the ‘why’ of a driver’s behaviour.

Testimonials
Shell’s staff and contractors drive around 1.1 billion kilometres each year. That’s equivalent to driving about 75 times around the world each day, hence getting road safety right is a priority for Shell. DriverMetrics is a key element of our global Defensive Driving Training programme for our staff. Driver trainers integrate the Driver Risk Index feedback with in-vehicle observations, holding proactive enhanced coaching conversations, and this is seen as a real benefit for our drivers.
“The DriverMetrics Driver Risk Index is the cornerstone of our safe travel roadmap being unique in the market for identifying behavioural attitudes rather than focusing on driving skills and knowledge of road rules. We have seen a 50% reduction in the rate of accidents resulting in injuries”
“Schneider Electric UK & I has worked in partnership with DriverMetrics for around 3 years, during which time we have used the FDRI to deliver driving risk assessments to over 1300 drivers and safety awareness training to nearly 800. As a result of considerable hard work it is pleasing to see a decrease in our Road Safety Incidents over the 3 years and a strong improvement in our insurance premium, with a reduction of around 15% or £80k per year from our position in 2013.”
We are very excited to be working with DriverMetrics® to implement the Truck Driver Risk IndexTM and related training interventions in the UK. The DriverMetrics® solution forms a major part of our risk reduction strategy as we seek to reduce the situational and behavioural risks to our drivers.
