DriverMetrics announced as Brake Fleet Safety Awards Finalist

As reported today in both Fleet News and Fleet WorldDriverMetrics® has been selected as a ‘Fleet Safety Product’ finalist in the 2016 Brake’s Fleet Safety Awards, recognising DriverMetrics’ contribution to improving the safety of at-work drivers.

The awards are organised by Brake, a leading road safety charity that works with stakeholders across the UK to reduce road deaths and injuries.

To achieve selection as a finalist, DriverMetrics® went up against over 60 other organisations who entered the awards this year, including a record number of first-time entries.

“It is an honour to be selected as a Brake award finalist, especially in a very strong field”, said Nick Rowley, CEO at DriverMetrics®. “We are delighted to be recognised for our evidence-based, scientifically validated fleet safety programme, and we are also very pleased to see that a number of our clients have also been selected as finalists in their respective categories”.

Ellie Pearson, professional engagement manager at Brake, said: “We have been incredibly impressed with DriverMetrics and their entry into our Fleet Safety Awards. It is fantastic that they are making a real effort to end the needless crashes on our roads as a result of at-work drivers.”

DriverMetrics’ shortlisted entry is for our flagship behaviour-based fleet safety programme. Founded at Cranfield University by Dr Lisa Dorn and based on 30 years of research, the DriverMetrics® programme encompasses three components. First, an online psychometric assessment: the Driver Risk IndexTM, the most scientifically validated and globally benchmarked, behavioural driver risk assessment available anywhere in the world. Second, a Management Information System: an online portal for fleet managers providing a snapshot of risk across a fleet. Thirdly, scientifically-based behavioural interventions for drivers including e-learning, group workshops and one-to-one coaching sessions.

Successful implementation of the DriverMetrics® programme regularly cuts car crash rates by over 30%, and more than 75 peer-reviewed academic papers have been published to support the validity of our methodology — a full list of references can be viewed at https://www.drivermetrics.com/research
