DriverMetrics to host 5th annual conference — changing driver behaviour
We are pleased to announce that our 5th annual conference will be held on Tuesday 7th June 2016.
The conference will take place at Cranfield University, the world-leading research institution where DriverMetrics was founded back in 2005.
This year’s conference theme is ‘Changing Driver Behaviour’. Attendees will join over 100 fleet safety professionals from all quarters of the industry to find out how DriverMetrics’ science-based approach is successfully being used to assess, identify and change driver behaviour.
Dr Lisa Dorn, Founder and Research Director at DriverMetrics said:
“Human behaviour is at the core of fleet risk challenges. So this year’s DriverMetrics Users’ Conference will focus on a number of tried and tested behavioural change techniques that Psychologists have been successfully developing and using for decades.
“DriverMetrics utilizes this evidence-base to change driver behaviour and our clients will show how our approach reduces the human and financial cost of crashes”
The DriverMetrics Users’ Conference is free to attend and is for existing and prospective users of the platform. Attendees will gain actionable insights and will hear real-world case studies on how to use cutting-edge science to solve common fleet safety challenges.
Keynote speakers include major fleet operators such as Bobby Quinten, the Director of Training and Development at Greyhound — the largest bus operator in the US — and Mark Johnson, Transport Manager at Welsh Water — provider of water and sanitation services to over 3 million people. Paul Roberts-Jones is Head of Driving Standards for North West Ambulance Service and will talk about how they are working with us to improve driving instructor standard.
Dr Dorn will also be sharing the latest scientific research on driver behaviour change.
In addition there will be structured breaks during the conference to facilitate networking with fellow fleet safety professionals and leading experts from around the world.
Confirmed attendees include fleet safety managers from Royal Mail, Schneider, and various police forces including Thames Valley and Kent. Insurers such as AXA and RSA have confirmed their attendance too.
